Active Participation in Cultural Activities
- should be acknowledged more for its importance for art, society, and individuals by politicians, bureaucrats,
researchers, opinion leaders, and professional artists
- should be recognised as worthy of support
from EU and Council of Europe cultural programmes and encouraged by the reduction of bureaucratic obstacles
Whether you just nod in agreement with the above statements or clap your hands enthusiastically,
we hope that you will support the cause of establishing an internet-based
European network for active participation in cultural activities
We invite you to take active part in the formation of this network with the intention
of a formal establishment as a result of a European conference to be held in
Ljubljana, Slovenia, during June 19-21, 2008.
Our work is a further and important step in the continuation of the work that others have laid down
in organising the conference ‘art4all’ in Utrecht, the Netherlands, in 2004 and the conference
‘Value, Include, Connect’ in Cardiff, Wales, UK, in 2005.
